We are extra excited to be launching the second CD by Govan Singing Company — “A Small Part of the World”

This CD is the young people’s fundraiser for our building refurbishment which provides an amazing safe space for hundreds of people every week through our community programme. We hope you enjoy listening to our song choices and that you will feel God close to you in the same way we do by playing our part in the music ministry of the Govan Salvation Army Community Church.

Being a part of something, playing our part, taking part, is important to Govan Singing Company but never more so than in 2020/21. The lyrics in the song referred to in the title say, ‘Hand in hand, dreams combine, voice with voice together for all time’. Sadly, because of social distancing and shielding, many of us could not hold hands or share a hug but what we did do was chat on zoom and facetime, reminding each other about the love of God and our love for each other.

These happy, fun loving young people follow Jesus. They sing to spread news about him and his love. Theirs is a small part in the grand scheme of things, but their impact is powerful - Commissioner Keith Banks
